Cwejman MMF-2 Multimode Filter, grey
The MMF-2 is a stereo multi mode filter which can operate in a true stereo mode or as two independent filters. A variety of possible modifications and re-shaping of your sound material is the goal for the MMF-2; as a post production filter with mix and pre/post saturation and as a tool for experimentation with both mono and stereo audio material with all CV controllable parameters in full audio range. The module is built around three functional blocks; filter, saturation stage and mix.
FILTER
The heart of the MMF-2 is two four pole multi mode filters with six selectable outputs for the main stereo outputs; low pass, low-band pass, band pass, band-high pass, high pass and notch + bypass. Three outputs/filter are available too; low pass, band pass and high pass and which are not affected by the saturation in the post mode. The corner frequency (CUTOFF L and CUTOFF R) is individual for both filters and the MASTER CUTOFF controls both. The Q-PEAK determines the resonance up to self oscillation point and is controlled individually or by the LEFT Q-PEAK when activated by the switch LINK TO LEFT. Both CUTOFF and Q-PEAK can be controlled manually and by inserted signal(s) in to the CV inputs. Those CV signals can control left and right filter and/or both when control signals are inserted in to the MASTER CV inputs.
SATURATION
The saturation stage consist of a saturation stage with dominant even harmonics (HARD) and with dominant odd harmonics (SOFT). The saturation effect is dependent of the signal strength so the degree of saturation in the pre- mode is controlled by the strength of the incoming signal and in the post mode by the level of the outgoing signal from the filter(s).
MIX
The MIX controls the proportion between the incoming "dry" audio signal and the "wet" signal from the filter with pre and post saturation circuit. The MIX works in stereo mode and it can be controlled manually by knob MIX and be the CV signal MIX. The direct outputs, LPF, BPF and HPF are not affected by the MIX.
SIZE: 26HP
- Two 4-pole multi mode filters which works in stereo mode or independently
- Seven modes: low pass, low/band pass, band pass, band/high pass, high pass, notch and filter bypass
- Soft/hard saturation stages, pre and post filter modes
- Stereo mix; from dry to wet for the main stereo output
- Three independent outputs, six in total; low, band and high pass - directly from the filters, not affected by saturation in post mode
- Lots of CV for; cutoff (independent for both filters and master, three in total, q-peak (resonance), mix
- Overload indicators
